Social I

Social I, our beginning class, is especially designed for fifth and sixth grade young ladies and gentlemen. The class divides the instruction between social education and dance education. A special emphasis is placed on laying a foundation of good manners and leadership skills. Role playing exercises and workbooks are used as fun and informative tools to give students opportunities to learn and practice.
Some of the workbook topics include:

  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Handshakes
  • Meeting and Introductions
  • Etiquette of Public Places
  • Telephone Etiquette
  • Everyday Table Manners

The dance education includes:

  • Basic Shag
  • Twist
  • Line dance

Granted, this course in social dance and etiquette education may not sound appealing but let us assure you that motivating young people is our specialty! We have a knack for making an otherwise dull and boring subject interesting and unforgettable.
